Humidity Domes for Paperpot Trays

These are a great addition to my work, sometimes I need to take the trays out of the germination chamber, but they still need more height, so they need more darkness. Instead of painting them black, I put them over the greens, and cover them with blackout fabric, that way I can still use them to finish germination of seedlings when the first to pop need light, but the soil blocks still need to be kept moist.

I had been reluctant to buy humidity domes that fit the paper pot trays, because I'm cheap.. but I'm super glad I did.
I use a germination chamber to start all of our seeds, but some crops can take a long time to pop and you have to take them out to put them under lights when the first seeds emerge.
The humidity domes help a lot with crops like spinach or onions that can take one or two weeks between the first and final seed emergence. Using the domes can make the difference between perfect germination and disappointing germination.
The domes are not as sturdy as the paper pot trays themselves, but they seem like they should hold up great as long as you're not abusing them. More sturdy than the standard 1020 humidity domes.

When the germ is full, these domes are key. They allow us to germinate multiple trays with ease. They also give us good visibility of the seedlings as the pop!
